Germany’s David Will and his stunning chestnut 16-year-old mare Mic Mac du Tillard took first place in today’s opening CSI5* class against the clock at Longines Global Champions Tour of Miami Beach.
As sunbathers and spectators lined the arena, the world’s best show jumping athletes took centre stage for the first CSI5* competition of the day. Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) continued his flying form following yesterday’s speed class win, riding Guess 6 to third place, and Switzerland’s Pius Schwizer and the impressive Balou Rubin R took the second spot.
Another combination who look on form this weekend are Bassem Hassan Mohammed and Argelith Squid, who finished third in yesterday’s opening class, and 5th this afternoon. Jane Richard Philips (SUI), Daniel Deusser (GER) and Bertram Allen (IRL) all looked in good shape ahead of tomorrow’s Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Miami Beach and the riders had the chance to flex their muscles once more ahead of the $500,000 class.
Next up is the prestigious American Invitational CSI5* 1.50/1.55 class, with the top athletes in the world back in the stunning sand arena to try their chances at the coveted top position. The competition will be streamed live via GCT TV, so check in there to catch up on all the latest as we return to the brilliant Miami Beach.
