Only a few hours to the promised land of the weekend, citizens of JN, so we’re kicking off the celebrations now with a little bright and early daydreaming. You might already have the horse of your dreams, but it never hurts to look, right?
This week’s irresistible, delectable little snack of horse heaven is Major, a ten-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding (Camargue x Pinot) owned by Sleepy P Ranch and shown by Michael Tokaruk.
Major scoring an 85 on his way to the Championship in the 3'6 Performance here in Chicago during WCHR week!

First off – he’s a good looking fella. Textbook fat, loveable blaze down his face, bobby socks in front, tall socks in back. He came dressed to impress, ladies, and he’d like to take you on the best date of your life.
This guy is the total package. He cruised around the open and J/AO jumpers for a few years jumping the moon without much trouble (up to 1.45m) but not really finding his foothold as an outright winner in that field.
Earlier this spring, he came to Tokaruk Show Stables as a sale horse, and Michael decided to test the smart little cookie in some new arenas and see how he responded. He hopped into the WIHS Hunter Phase with Michael’s student Mattie Hatcher and won second place. Michael took him in the 3’6″ Performance Hunters at Germantown and the gelding absolutely sparkled, winning the open class.
At Summer in the Rockies V, Major went back to partnering with the juniors, bringing home top ten ribbons in every class he entered with Mattie and fellow junior rider Kaitlyn Lovingfoss. Then he went in the next few days with Michael and won the 3’6″ Performance Hunter Championship, the National Hunter Derby, and a slew of other classes.
Earlier this month they headed to Lamplight and conquered the midwest’s 3’6″ High Performance Hunters as well, and came in eighth in a big National Derby class. All this and the horse has only been a hunter for about FOUR MONTHS. Imagine what he could be doing by the time WEF 2018 comes around!

Happy horse hunting, and Go Jumping!
Michael Tokaruk told JN in our first interview with them that he wouldn’t accept a sponsorship from a company he doesn’t believe in – he is partnered with Draper because his horses wear their therapy products every day.
