Sometimes I think as hunter jumpers we forget our roots. Lately I have grown fascinated with the traditions of fox hunting and have been researching how the modern day sport that I love has evolved from its original purpose. Fox hunting dates back to the 15th century and while the times have changed, many of its traditions have not. There is something so beautiful about the workmanlike nature of the hounds, the traditional dress and the camaraderie among the huntsmen.
