    [post_content] => Shanghai, China - April 30, 2016 - Switzerland’s Pius Schwizer and his nine year old bay gelding Tarioso Manciais lead the way after a fantastic first round of competition for the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Shanghai.

Hot on his heels is World Number 1 Simon Delestre with Chesall, and Olivier Philippaerts with H&M Legend of Love. A total of 13 riders went clear, with notable names to look out for being Ludger Beerbaum (GER) and Chaman, Scott Brash (GBR) and Hello Forever, LGCT Ranking Leader Christian Ahlmann (GER) with his eye-catching gelding Colorit, Edwina Tops-Alexander (AUS) with Caretina de Joter, and Rodrigo Pessoa (BRA) with Ferro Chin v. Lindenhof.

Round two will kick off shortly, with the top 18 back to compete in the sand arena. Fans have packed the grandstand, queueing to catch a glimpse of the world's top riders, and filled the expansive shopping village while VIPs and distingushed guests watch on from luxurious  setting here in the heart of Shanghai.
