Tape It Up: Back at the Barn with Kentucky Performance Products

Human athletes have been rocking the athletic tape for awhile now, such that you don’t blink you see a dude with neon stripes up and down his legs. But tape for horses? It’s the new craze, and it’s not only helping equine athletes do some cool recovery stuff, but most importantly for the purposes of this instagram roundup, it looks super cool.

Saphira hurt her suspensory tendon on her front left leg a while back. Right under her knee 😖 couldn't have been in a more awkward spot to treat or wrap… thank god for the support system I have!!! Missy from @eqbodyworx came out tonight to tape her with the amazing #equitape :):) the tape today is helping with the distribution of her weight and taking the pressure off the injured area, also balancing both legs with the same wrap… she's been getting regular check ups from our vet, lots of stall rest, being spoiled with daily brushing and massages 😝 and also getting Shockwave Therapy which has been helping so much!! And will soon be available around Niagara 🙂 details on that to come!!

The number one thing we all must remember when in any type of sport with any animal; is that they are as, if not more important then we are. Mind, body and soul. We are a team with them and have to do it together…. My mare Saphira hurt her suspensory tendon in her front left leg this winter just running around on a muddy day. Anything can happen at any time and we have to be there for them just like they are there for us every time we ask them into the unkown where we are always leading them… the trust they have in us will never stop amazing me!!!! Thankfully I and my horses have an amazing support system behind us. Great vets, chiropractors, equibow and equiwave people we trust and love!!! Saphira has been getting the best of all these worlds over the last few weeks.
