As part of the USEF’s transformation to US Equestrian and becoming a better resource to its members, the USEF Network has expanded its offerings and videos significantly for numerous sports, from Arabian conformation to equine first aid kits and everything in-between. It’s a treasure trove of information, and a good deal of it is geared toward one of their largest demographics: Hunter Jumpers.
While most videos are only available with either a Fan Membership or a Competing Membership, a handful of videos are free to the public, including today’s feature: How to Walk a Show Jumping Course with Mclain Ward.
In the three minute video, Mclain discusses everything from memorizing the course to determining distances and being aware of atmosphere that could affect performance. It’s not often you get such an intimate portrait of the world class rider in his element, and the video is as beautiful as it is informative.
