U.S. show jumper Lauren Hough has announced the retirement of her longtime partner, Quick Study (“Joey”).

Hough’s relationship with the 17-year-old Selle Francais (Quick Star—Sirene de Plantro, What A Joy XX) owned by Laura and Meredith Mateo spans a decade and includes Grand Prix wins both here and abroad.

Highlights of their career together include:

2010: 1st, GCT Grand Prix of Hamburg; Team Gold, Rotterdam’s Meydan FEI Nations Cup; represented the U.S. at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Lexington, Ky.

2011: 1st, $150,000 Wellington Equestrian Realty Grand Prix and $500,000 FTI Consulting Finale Grand Prix at the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival; 1st, Longines Dublin International Grand Prix; 1st, St. Lo Grand Prix in France

2012: 1st, Open Jumper Class at the Alltech National Horse Show

2013: Team Silver, Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup presented by Longines at CHIO Rotterdam
